Month-to-month managed IT

Month-to-Month Managed IT
No Lock-in Contracts

Our managed IT plans run month to month. There is no fixed term, no renewal date to watch and no remaining contract to pay out if you leave. We keep your business by doing good work, and you keep the keys to your own systems.

Why month to month

Why we don't use lock-in contracts

Many managed IT agreements run for a fixed term, such as 12, 24 or 36 months. A fixed term can suit both sides, for example by spreading setup or hardware costs or holding a price steady. The catch is what happens if the service stops suiting you part way through.

Fixed-term agreements can include an early exit clause (leave early and pay some or all of the remaining months), an automatic renewal into another full term, and a notice window before the renewal date. None of this is hidden, but it is easy to miss when you sign.

We work month to month because it keeps the relationship honest. If we stop being useful, you can leave, and we would rather know that than hold you to a contract. It also means we have to keep earning the next month.

Fixed-term contract
Month to month with SEQ IT

A fixed term, such as 12, 24 or 36 months

No minimum term: the agreement rolls month to month

Leaving early can mean paying out the rest of the term

End it with 30 days’ notice, with no remaining term to pay out

Can roll into a new full term if notice is missed

No renewal dates to track

Notice may only be accepted in a window before renewal

Give notice in any month

Hardware or setup costs may be recovered across the term

Hardware and projects quoted and billed on their own

Handover of admin access depends on the contract wording

Your admin access and documentation belong to you

A fixed term is not always a bad deal. Read the term, renewal and exit clauses before you sign any IT agreement, ours included.

In practice

What month to month means for you

No lock-in is only useful if you can actually leave. Here is what that looks like day to day, and what still sits outside the monthly fee.

01

You can leave with notice

Give us 30 days’ notice and the agreement ends. You don’t need a reason, and there is no remaining term to pay out.

02

Your admin access is yours

Your Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace tenant belongs to your business, and you can hold your own emergency admin login, so no handover depends on us alone.

03

Your documentation is yours

The records we keep on your devices, accounts, software, network and suppliers are about your business. If you leave, they go with you.

04

We hand over cleanly

We pass admin access, documentation and licence details to you or your new provider, then remove our monitoring and management tools.

05

Project work is quoted separately

Migrations, new sites and office moves sit outside the monthly fee, and each is quoted before work starts.

06

Hardware is billed on its own

Laptops, firewalls and other equipment are quoted and invoiced when you buy them, separate from the monthly fee.

07

Licences follow their own terms

Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace licences are separate from our plans. Microsoft licences can be added any time but only reduced at renewal.

08

Support depends on your plan

Fully Managed IT includes support in business hours. Core IT Security includes 24/7 threat monitoring, with support billed as you use it.

FAQ

Month-to-month IT support: common questions

A lock-in contract is a managed IT agreement with a fixed term, such as 12, 24 or 36 months. Leaving early can mean paying out some or all of the remaining months, and some renew automatically for another full term unless you give notice within a set window. SEQ IT works month to month instead, so there is no fixed term to lock you in.

30 days’ notice ends a managed IT agreement with SEQ IT, and you don’t need to give a reason. Our agreement is issued with every proposal, so you can read the notice and termination terms before you sign. If you would like a copy first, email hello@seqit.com.au or see our terms and conditions page.

Yes. Your admin access and the documentation we keep about your systems belong to your business. When you leave, we hand them over to you or your new provider and remove our monitoring and management tools. Our switching IT providers page explains how a handover works from both sides.

Licences are separate from our plans and follow their own terms. Microsoft licences can be added at any time but only reduced at renewal, so an annual commitment runs to its renewal date even if our agreement ends. We give you the licence details and work with your new provider to move them across.
