The clinic day

When IT stalls, the waiting room fills

A practice runs to the minute. If the practice software won’t open at 8am, reception can’t check anyone in and every appointment after that runs late.

Generic IT providers don’t know your clinical software, push updates mid-session, and forget that 30 minutes offline means cancelled appointments.

We support GPs, specialists, psychologists, psychiatrists, physiotherapists, dentists, cosmetic and dermatology clinics, pathology, NDIS providers and multi-site groups.

Sound familiar?
  • Practice software frozen with a full waiting room
  • Consult room computers that crawl between patients
  • Phones or internet down, so nobody can book or claim
  • Telehealth video dropping mid-consultation
What we look after

IT support built around patient care

What practices call us about most, and what we do about each.

Practice software

Your clinical system, kept healthy

Server in the back room, hosted or cloud: we look after updates, database health, performance and monitoring.

Consult rooms

Workstations that keep pace

Patched outside clinic hours, with logins, printing and scanning that work between patients. When a printer jams mid-consult, you call us.

Front desk

Reception phones and internet

Reception stops when the internet does. We manage your network, Wi-Fi and firewall, and keep clinical systems off guest Wi-Fi.

Telehealth

Video consults that hold up

Cameras, headsets, bandwidth and the platform, sorted. Clinicians consulting from home get a managed, secured device, not a family laptop.

Integrations

Messaging, results and claiming

Secure messaging, pathology and imaging results, eReferrals and Medicare online claiming fail quietly. We keep them connected and chase the fault.

Backups

Patient records you can restore

Daily backups of clinical data and your server, monitored and test-restored, so you don’t find a failed backup on the day you need it.

Software we support

We know the software your practice runs on

We support the platforms practices use, including Best Practice, Medical Director, Genie Solutions, Halaxy and Cliniko, plus Exact, ZedMed, PowerChart, OASIS and other cloud clinical platforms.

That covers installs, upgrades, databases, server and cloud setup, user access and troubleshooting. Your vendor keeps licensing and product faults; we handle the rest and deal with their support desk for you.

One outage away from a lost clinic day?

We’ll review your setup, backups and security, and tell you plainly where the weak points are. Free, with no obligation.

Patient privacy

Patient data, the Privacy Act and the NDB scheme

The Privacy Act 1988 applies to every health service provider, whatever the turnover. A solo psychologist has the same duty as a large medical centre: handle health information under the Australian Privacy Principles, and report eligible data breaches to the OAIC and affected patients under the Notifiable Data Breaches (NDB) scheme. Practices connected to My Health Record also have obligations under the My Health Records Act.

Attacks on clinics usually start somewhere ordinary: a reused password, a fake email to reception, a laptop that missed its updates. We close those gaps and, if something happens, help you work out whether it must be reported.

Controls we put in place
  • Multi-factor authentication on email and remote access
  • Overseas sign-ins blocked unless you need them
  • Admin rights removed, software installs approved by us
  • EDR on every workstation, watched 24/7
  • Email filtering plus SPF, DKIM and DMARC
  • Staff training with simulated phishing
  • Controls aligned to the Essential Eight, with SMB1001 if you want it certified
Clinic hours

Support that works around your sessions

Before clinic

Updates out of the way

Patches and restarts happen outside clinic hours, so nothing reboots mid-consult.

During clinic

Fast when it matters

Critical issues get a response within 1 business hour, and most are fixed remotely in under 30 minutes once we connect.

Late and Saturday sessions

Cover agreed upfront

Standard support runs Monday to Friday. Evening and weekend cover is available by arrangement.

While you're closed

Watched around the clock

Security monitoring runs 24/7, and backups are checked for failures.

Getting started

How we take over your practice IT

Usually one to two weeks, planned around clinic sessions.

01

Discovery call

Sessions, locations, clinical software, phones, and what keeps going wrong.

02

Assessment

Your server or hosted setup, backups, workstations, network, and who can reach patient records.

03

Proposal and onboarding

A fixed monthly price. If you have an IT provider now, we manage the handover so support never lapses.

04

Ongoing management

Helpdesk, monitoring, patching and security in the background, reviewed as the practice grows.

Proof

The security we set up for clinics, we run ourselves

SEQ IT achieved SMB1001 Gold through CyberCert. The sign-in protection, monitoring and backup testing we set up in your practice are the controls we run on our own systems every day.

FAQ

Healthcare IT: common questions

Yes. We install, update and troubleshoot both, look after the database and server they run on, and keep pathology, imaging and secure messaging integrations working. We also support Genie Solutions, Halaxy, Cliniko, ZedMed and other clinical platforms.

Yes. Unlike most small businesses, health service providers are covered by the Privacy Act 1988 regardless of turnover, including physiotherapists, psychologists and dentists. You must protect health information under the Australian Privacy Principles and report eligible data breaches under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

We treat it as critical, with a response within 1 business hour. Most issues are fixed remotely, and if the server needs hands on it, we come onsite the same day anywhere in South East Queensland.

Standard support runs Monday to Friday in business hours, with a 1-hour response to critical issues. Cover for evening or Saturday sessions is available by arrangement, agreed before you need it. Security monitoring runs 24/7 either way.

Yes. We plan the network, arrange cabling, order hardware, install practice software, set up email, security and phone systems, and migrate your data. The IT is tested and ready before the first patient walks in.

It depends on users, workstations, sites and whether your practice software runs on a server or in the cloud. As a guide, managed IT for a 10-person business is typically $1,200 to $2,500 a month, fixed, with no lock-in contract. The first consultation is free.
